I feel that both my kids have gained more then a parent alone could have given them with your first18months program. It has helped me help my kids stay on track. It also helps me keep them under control by knowing what they need to learn next.

It also helps the mother know when her child is playing up through boredom or just being naughty. My view is I couldn't have given my kids a better start to life, without your program.

Matthew

Matthew started the program at the age of 13 months and he graduated when he was about 4 ½ years old. He started school this year February 2000, and we are so proud of him. He has settled into kindergarten beautifully.

Matthew is a very balanced and happy little boy and my husband and I truly believe the DST Workbooks plays a huge part. The program has provided him with all the skills he needed to start school with confidence and an eagerness to learn.

Yours truly,

Joanne

Michelle

Michelle has just turned two and has been involved in the program since she was ten months old.

Her self help and cognitive skills were much greater than her gross motor, which resulted in a very frustrated child.

As Stuart and I are not very sports minded we have found that the gross motor skills are not the ones we taught instinctively. This is where we have found the program has been invaluable,we are guided in teaching skills in areas that Michelle may not have otherwise been encouraged.

Thank you to Veronica.

Jackson

Jackson was born on the 31st August 1996 - 2 hours before fathers day!! He weighed in at 3.2kgs and was 51cm long. He was born via Caesarean.

Luckily for us Jackson was a very content little baby and everything went along like a dream.

When Jackson was about 12mths I thought I will get in early. I soon found out the earlier the better for the DST Workbooks. We started Jackson on his programme straight away.

We would like to thank Veronica and Kevin at first18months.com.au We enjoy the program and Jackson is thriving also.

Jeffrey, Daniel and Miles

Jeffrey started on the DST Workbooks in 1997. I was surprised to find that these early years are so crucial in a child's development. Every parent wants the best for their child and we were no different. Neither of us were trained in education and so we relied on the DST Workbooks to help us know what we could teach and the results that we could expect at each age.

Jeffrey starts pre-school this year and we feel he is equipped to deal with this next stage in his development.

Daniel is the second of our three children and has had the benefit of his older brother Jeffrey to "show him the ropes." He has progressed very well through the program.

Miles has been on the program since birth, Being the third of a young group of children (16 mths, 3 & 4 years) has been a mixed blessing for Miles. While he is never short of company or amusement he has not received the same degree of individual attention or delicate handling that his brothers did.

We are a lot more confident with Miles and the program is ensuring that he receives the attention in the areas that he needs.

James

James was enrolled in the DST© Workbooks program at the age of nine months. Neither my husband or myself had had any experience of children either personally or professionally before our own and we had no real idea of how children develop or what we could do to help them on their way.

At nine months it was evident that James was in need of some balancing up of his skills. This led to a great deal of frustration on all our parts.

The program has given us a clear understanding of James skill levels in different areas. We have been able to help him work on his less strong areas, step by step, by helping him complete each small task. In doing this we have been actively involved with his development and have gained a great deal of satisfaction from seeing him progress.

James has started 3 year old Kinder this year and all the work has started to show. His growing confidence in his Gross motor skills has led to greater confidence outside in the playground. He is much happier playing and socializing

We are very pleased with the program and we have certainly found that it has made a difference.

Daniel

One week ago, our 8 month old, Daniel could get where ever he wanted to go in a room by rolling over and over and moving on his stomach in a circle. He could not sit up with out support; he would fall over after a few seconds. I did not put him in the sitting position much because he did not do it well. Veronica pointed out that a child who can get anywhere by rolling will not seek to crawl to get moving, so will be late to crawling and getting into a standing position causing him to be a late walker. She suggested putting toys in front of him so that the only way to get them was to move directly forward. Within 2 days of doing this, Daniel started to pull himself forward in the beginning of a commando crawl. Also I started putting him in sitting position a lot of times per day.

Now only a week later, Daniel is sitting by himself for up to 5 minutes with out needing support. He is commando crawling - pulling himself along on his arms, on his tummy. He has also started rocking up on his hands and knees.

As a result of this last week's effects of some directed intervention with my boys, I am impressed with the "DST Workbooks".

POSTSCRIPT

It is now two weeks after the email support from Veronica, we have seen more progress. With Michael, we have been jumping on a mini-trampoline, and he is showing a bit more interest in jumping. I have also watched him venture down his slide in the backyard without me there - something he would not do before.

Daniel is progressing very fast. He now commando crawls about six metres, and is doing more experimenting up on his hands and knees. He is sitting for very long periods - 10 or 15 minutes, and manipulating toys, reaching things from a sitting position. It is all quite amazing - what an effect some directed intervention has!!

Thanks for the "DST Workbooks"!! It's great

Lorelle

Rebecca

The DST Workbooks has been very helpful for Rebecca and us. Rebecca enrolled in the DST Workbooks during her first year of life. Not having a teaching background myself I wanted to make sure that we were teaching Rebecca the right skills at the right time and that she was not missing out on any area of her development.

We found the program was an excellent checklist for some areas as we were unconsciously already teaching Rebecca these skills. However there was some areas, especially gross motor, that Rebecca would have missed out on altogether if we did not have the DST Workbooks© to guide us.

On our family's behalf, I would like to give Veronica a big "THANKS".

Best Regards

We are so proud of the next testimonial[Veronica and Kevin].

Daniel

Daniel had a real struggle the first year of school, the school said he needed one on one help which they couldn't give him so we decided to teach him at home for a while and give him the one on one attention he needed.

We struggled and there were many fights and battles. Daniel didn't seem to want to learn. Someone put us in touch with Veronica where we found that our approach in some areas could be better. We learnt that Daniel did not perform many Early Developmental Milestones and was struggling because we were trying to build before the foundation had been laid. We were trying to input above Daniel's understanding level.

We stopped all academic work and took the pressure off. We found that if we showed him love and encouragement he would respond. We had high expectations of Daniel; we kept him warm, fed, safe and clothed but didn't see his other needs. Taking the pressure off Daniel was a big help; he sighed with relief and threw his arms around me.

We started the DST Workbooks program, some skills were easy and some took time. After about six months we slowly introduced schoolwork and he coped very well. Over the next twelve months we continued with The DST Workbooks© program and introduced more schoolwork.

Now after 18 months we have finished. Daniel is now a much happier boy; he is reading simple books and is coping well with maths concepts.

Daniel is still slow to learn in some areas but now we understand how to teach him so he gains all the information he needs. With constant revision of The DST Workbook program we know that Daniel will eventually be integrated into a normal school again.

NB: - Daniel is one of our first special needs children to graduate from The DST Workbooks program. Through a lot of hard work Daniel has gone from a development stage of 3 years up to 6 years in an 18 months period. Before too long Daniel will be equal to any other 8 year old boy. Well done to Tracey. Veronica & Kevin
